Craftin' MoJo and Healing my couch.
I think my butt print will be permanently planted here....poor couch.  I had my foot surgery last week and have been recuperating (aka going nuts from boredom).  If you know me you know that I am NOT good at being still.  I always have something going on.  If I need something from Target...I grab my keys and go pick it up.  If I want to go check out some cool craft supply at Michaels....I go.    So here I sit.

Originally the doctor said that he wouldn't know how long my healing process would actually be until he got in there.  He thought that "maybe" he could have me out of a cast and back at work within 2-3 weeks......  Um....not so much.
Here's my ankle after the first cast came off....  Yuck!!

After all was said and done....the final answer was....(drum roll please)......No work, no bearing weight for EIGHT WEEKS.  So my school year ended early and here I am at home just healing.  I won't lie....I had days at work when I thought, "why can't I win the lottery and stay at home?  I could stamp and be creative.....  blah, blah, blah"  Well.....that would be if the lottery scenario included two working ankles, no crutches/wheelchairs and no pain.  I honestly was NOT "done" with my kids yet.  I had more to teach them...more to watch them achieve and I wasn't ready to just stop.  It's not like I consider myself to be "all that and a bag of chips" but we had a great thing goin'.  I hope to see them next week at the end of the year lunch.

Let me just go on the record by saying that my husband is AMAZING.  He has taken such great care of me....helped me through surgery...getting Britt off to Spain....kept me pain free and comfy as possible and more.  I love him more than words can say.

My mom has been my main "driver" while Mike is at work and I don't know what I do if she wasn't so patient and so great about getting me out of this house.  Tomorrow we will make a big trip all the way to the surgeon's office in Fair Oaks (woo hoo).  I will have this (the 2nd cast) taken off.....the stitches removed (we hope) and the 3rd cast put on.  I'll keep you posted.

So....Craftin' Mo Jo.....  I made sure that I moved a lot of my stampin' supplies up here to the main level the night before surgery so that I could at least be creative with all this time on my hands.  I'm glad I did.  I still have big plans to attend this year's Stampin' Up! convention in Salt Lake City in July.  That's my goal.  I have had SO many people who have sent cards, emails, flowers and some have stopped by or called and I wanted to send a few "thank you" notes out.  What a perfect excuse to get crafty.  So I made a new card that I duplicated and sent out to a few of my friends.  I loved the idea of using some of my SU! punches to create different things and after making this one design I'm really hooked.  I hope you like it.
I named it "Rockin' Robin Thank You".

I'm sure this post seems like a long ramble...I'm sorry.  Just consider all the meds...  :-)  Thank you for all your prayers and most of all for your friendship.  I'll keep you posted after tomorrow's big date with the surgeon.  Now I need to decide which color cast to get this time......Hmmm.......

Love to you,
