Card Keeper Box

Happy Thursday, my friends,

Here's a fun project share for you.  Mike's stepmom is very creative and loves handmade gifts. Last Christmas I made a fun box that held 12 hand stamped cards and matching envelopes for her.  There was an assortment of all occasions and she loved it.  A little "bird" told me that she was hoping for more of them this year so this is what I made for her.

It held 12 cards and envelopes comfortably.

I love the colors!  The pattern is so bright and happy.  I added a fun, embossed belly band to add a little interest.

Here's a close up of the fun flower embellishment I made for the front.  I have a video tutorial almost completed on how to make them that I hope to post soon.
Here are the directions for the box:

Supplies:  2 ea. 8"x8 1/2" pieces card stock, 1 ea. 4 1/2" x 6" piece card stock, 2 ea. 4 1/4" x 5 3/4" pieces DSP, 2 ea. 1 3/4" x 5 3/4" pieces DSP, 2 ea. 4 1/4" x 1 3/4" pieces DSP, Adhesive of your choice.

Directions:  Score the 8" x 8 1/2" piece of CS with the 8 1/2" edge across the top of your scoring plate.at 2" and 6 1/2".  Turn CS and score at 2".  On the 4 1/2" x 6" piece, score at 2" and 4".  This piece is the lid of the box and will be adhered to the back of one of the box pieces.

Adhere the lid piece.  The two box pieces fit together.  Glue one piece on the bottom and side.  Then slide that into the other box.

Add the DSP pieces and decorate box as desired.  Enjoy!

I hope you enjoy making a few of your own.
Have a terrific day!
Michelle
