Double Duty

Hello Peeps,

I'm really excited to share this project with you today.  I'm sure it's no secret how excited I get when I find lots of different ways to use a single product.
Today's project is a doozie of an example of just that.
Here it is.....

Ok....Want to see what I used?  *drumroll........*

The Petite Purse Die!!  HA!  I know!  Right??

The box is created by cutting out four of the purses.  I cut two black and two from the new Halloween DSP.  I embossed the black ones using the Spider Web embossing folder.  I then punched out a window with my  1 1/4" circle punch.  I then cut a small piece of a window sheet and adhered it to the inside. The fun Mummy stamp, the "Boooo" stamp, the tag and the googly eyes are from an awesome little Halloween kit from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  It's so stinkin' cute and you can create LOTS of fun projects with it.

The entire kit is just full of possibilities.

I made a fun little 3" x 3" enclosure card for a little added pizzazz.

There are so many wonderful products in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  You can check it out at my Online Shop.  If you'd like your very own "hard copy", just send me a quick note and I'll mail one right to your front door.

Ok....Sorry this is short and sweet today but Miss Lindsay is tapping her toe waiting for me.
Her 21st birthday is this Sunday and she's busy making plans.
I'm sure Smurfs will be involved and it's sure to be magical.
Ya gotta LOVE autism.  lol

Stamped Blessings to you,

Falling for Fall

Happy Sunday!

**UPDATE - 8/27/12 - The chipboard circle measure 12" in diameter.  Also, I used 72 wooden clothespins.  I bought them at WalMart and found them in the laundry supplies section near the ironing boards.**

I've been a busy bee this weekend.  I've been trying to get a few things done to get ready for all of my stamp camps this week.  It's a little more challenging since I'll be working at school this week to prepare for the opening next week.  That's ok.  I've been really productive and it feels SO good.

The project I have to share with you is one I created after seeing something a little like it on Pinterest.  I love all the inspiration on there!  Whew!  Sometimes, though, it's easy to get so caught up in it that I lose track of time.  :-)  Anyway...  Here's what I came up with....

Isn't it fun?  It really wasn't a hard project to put together at all yet it looks quite time consuming.  I started with a large chipboard circle as my base.  I then pulled out my stash of clothespins and got to work.  I chose the new "Orchard Harvest" Designer Series Paper to use to cover the clothespins.    Here's a peek at the prints that are included....
"Orchard Harvest" DSP - 126895 - $10.95
12 sheets, 2 ea. of 6 double-sided 12x12 designs

I just measured the top of one pin and then used my handy, dandy paper trimmer to cut strips of the various prints.  I adhered the strips to the pins using my SNAIL adhesive.  You can use whatever you'd like.  Tombo Glue works great also.

Once the clothespins were all covered, I heated up my hot glue gun and started to adhere them in a random pattern around the chipboard circle.  That was a "snap".  I LOVE all the patterns in this DSP pack.  The prints are really versatile and I've found lots of different uses for them.  You know how I LOVE that!

I created the leaves a couple of different ways.  The first way was using my Big Shot and the new "Autumn Accents" Die.  It cuts 5 different leaves at once!  Woot! Here are the leaf designs...
"Autumn Accents" Bigz Die - #127812 - $21.95

I chose a few coordinating colors from the DSP and cut them out all at once.  **NOTE - Did you know that you can cut up to seven layers of card stock at a time with your Big Shot Dies?**  Now to add a little more pizzazz to the leaves I embossed them with the "Square Lattice" Embossing Folder for the Big Shot.

The other leaves were created using the new "Wonderfall" stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog also.  It's SO stinkin' cute!  Here are the images included....

"Wonderfall" stamp set - Wood Mount -#128084 - $24.95   Clear Mount #128087 - $17.95
I stamped them on Very Vanilla card stock in coordinating ink colors.  I created the "Bountiful Blessings" banner using MDS2 and printed it out on Very Vanilla card stock.  Don't forget....if you haven't tried MDS or MDS2 yet, you can still download a FREE 30 day trial and take it out for a spin.  I love mine!!

I really think this wreath would be a great gift for friends or teachers this fall.  I'm sure I'll be looking for a lot more clothespins in the coming weeks!

You can find all the supplies listed above at my Online Stampin' Store.  Don't forget....it's open 24/7....the light are always on...no lines....no waiting....AND you can even shop in your pjs!

Stamped Blessings,

Comfort Cafe

Happy Thursday, Peeps,

Well....today is the last day of my summer break.  BooHOO.  I know I'm so blessed to work for the school system and actually get the summer off.  It's always hard gearing up for the reality of another school year though.  Ah well....  I still get to come home and stamp.  Right?   You BETCHA!

Speaking of stamping....I have a sweet card share for you today.  This one was created using one of my new favorite Designer Series Paper packs called....You guessed it.... "Comfort Cafe".  I am always amazed at how versatile the DSP packs are and how many different looks I can get since the papers are all double sided.  Comfort Cafe uses some of the best color combos.  The palette includes Cajun Craze, Midnight Muse, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Summer Starfruit and Very Vanilla.  I know I've said it a gazillion times but I always love the way that Stampin' Up! takes all the "guess work" out of creating for us and has everything coordinated by color family.  It's like "Garanimals for Crafters"!  Woot!

Ok...back to my card.  Let me show it to you first....

First, you need to forget the old rule about "not mixing prints".  It really is okay.  Promise.  All the prints on this card are from Comfort Cafe and there are still more!  Can you believe it??
Here's a little snip-it of the patterns included....

"Comfort Cafe" Designer Series Paper - 126896 - $10.95

Now....that sweet, little birdie is from a fun stamp set called "For the Birds".  It's a great "go to" stamp set because it has multiple greetings that are good all year long.  The other nice thing is you could ink up just the image or even just use the sentiment and double the possibilities for use.
 I love that.

Here are all the images that are included...

Clear Mount - 126407 - $24.95       Wood Mount - 126405 - $32.95
See!  That's like getting 15 different stamps in one sweet set.  Woot!  Love it!

If you'd like to see all the other Designer Series Papers that SU! offers, just head over to
my Online Shop and open them up for a peek.

Alright....I'd better get things organized and find something to wear
back to work tomorrow.

Have a magical day!

"Sassparilla"

Hey there, Peeps!

Boy, oh Boy!  I had a LOT of fun in my stampin' studio today.  One of my favorite things to create is punch art.  It's SO fun finding other ways to use your products (and punches).  They're like gifts that keep on giving.

I've had this little lady in my brain for a week or so now and today I finally sat down and created her.  Her name is "Sassparilla"....
or "Sassy" for short.  :-)

Now who ever said all witches had to be scary??
Here's another view....

Isn't she fun??  I just love her.  I keep promising video tutorials and truth be told I'm waiting for my hubby to set up my "recording spot" for me in my new stamp room.  He's been working all kinds of crazy hours but he's promised to get it done soon so I can get these videos completed for you.  I'm adding a "Sassy" tutorial to my list of "things to do".
Keep your fingers crossed.

Alrighty....If you'd like to check out all the punches that are just waiting to make fun creations like Sassy....go to my Online Stampin' Store by CLICKING HERE.....

Sassy and I wish you a magical day.

Santa's feeling "punchy"

Happy Monday, Peep!

It's a rainy Monday here in Virginia but that's ok.  I have four short days left of summer vacation and I'm going to enjoy every second.  I'm having so much fun creating with the new stampin' goodies from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  It is honestly the best one I've ever seen.

If you've followed my blog for a bit you may remember that I LOVE punch art.  Well....do I have a new cutie for you today!  Here he is......  A "Suit-able" Santa....

Now here's a little giggle for you...(either that...or it's a scary look into my creative brain...)  I was sitting at the pool at Brittany and Sam's apartment complex the other day and I saw these awesome pine cones laying on the ground.  I know....crazy, right?  I saw the shape of the pine cones and THIS is where my brain went! LOL  Oh well, it could be worse.  :-)

This cutie patootie was made with just a few little scraps of cardstock and DSP and punches.  I think I might need to make a video tutorial of this one.  I glittered him up a bit using Dazzling Diamonds from SU! and he just POPS.  I'd like to do a big tree with these little guys. Also, I'm thinking these would be great little gifts.  Woot!  So glad we went swimming last week.

If you'd like to make some of these, go to my ONLINE STORE to find all your supplies.  Just CLICK HERE  Be sure to check out the Holiday Mini while you're there.

I'm off to find new treasures....

Wishing you a magical day,

Time to Treasure

Hello, my friends,

What a lovely weekend.  We didn't have a lot on our "To Do" list since Mike knew he had to work on a project at work for part of the weekend.  It went by so quickly though.  Yesterday was my beautiful Mama's 71st birthday.  She is honestly my best friend and the most caring, thoughtful and strong woman I've ever known.  I'm beyond blessed that God picked me to be the daughter of such an incredible woman.

Since she and my Dad had a full and fun schedule yesterday on her actual birthday, we planned to have a family dinner tonight at her favorite restaurant....Olive Garden.  Go figure!  Her name just happens to be "Olive".  LOL  Ironic, right?

This afternoon I was in my stamp room and Linz came in a plopped down to just visit.  I asked her if she'd like to make a birthday card for Nannie (expecting her to say "nah" since she's never wanted to stamp with me before).  I was shocked when she said, "Sure!".  I let her pick out the colors and stamps etc and just guided her a little.  It was incredibly sharing that with her and it meant so much to me.  Here are a few photos of our time together....  I just had to share....

Stamping the cupcake she chose....

Looks great!

She chose the Large Scallop Punch to punch it out...

Then she carefully colored it with Stampin' Markers...

She cut out a Top Note with the Big Shot and then embossed it using the Polka Dot Folder

Perfect!

She punched out another scalloped circle...this one in Pool Party

She added a little "bling" to her cupcake....

She punched out 3 hearts to go on the inside....

TA DAAAAA!  Gorgeous!

She found her pink pen and signed it just for Nannie!

Nannie at dinner....She LOVED Lindsay's creation!

What a treasure!  She did an amazing job and I'm really proud of her.  I think Nannie liked it too.  :-)
I think she did a fabulous job and I'll always treasure the time we spent making it together.  Sometimes life seems so rushed and it would've been easier to just pick up a card at the store.  I'm so glad we didn't and I'm especially glad that we had that short half hour together.  We shared laughs and creativity and so much more.  What a blessing.

So...I  hope you take a little time out to make a few memories of your own.  ...Times to treasure....

Stamped Blessings to you and yours,

The Secret of Life

Happy Saturday, my friends!

It's a gorgeous day here in Virginia.  I hope it's just as beautiful wherever you are.  This is my last weekend before I go back to work.  I actually go back to school next Friday.  Weird, huh?  I know.  Oh well...I figure I'll ease into the school year.  Work one day....take two off....  Yep.  Sounds like a plan.

Today is a VERY special day in our family.  Today is my beautiful Mama's 71st birthday.  YAY!  She is truly my best friend and the most amazing woman I know.  She's a blessing inside and out and she is simply a treasure.  I'm so lucky that she is MY mother.  Happy Birthday, Mama!!!

I received a BIG box from Stampin' Up! yesterday and it made it here just in time.  I ordered some awesome new stamp sets and one of my new faves was among them.  It's called "From My Heart".  Here's the first card I've created with it....(for someone...ahem....special)

"The Secret of Life" is one of my all time FAVORITE songs by James Taylor!  I've embossed the image on Black card stock using Versamark Ink and Melon Mambo Embossing Powder

A "pop" of color on the inside for fun.

The "Secret of LIfe" image is stamped on Basic Black card stock (#121045) using Versamark Ink (#102283) and was then embossed with Melon Mambo Embossing Powder (#123223).  Once that was done I cut it out using one of the framelits from the "Apothecary Accents Framelits" set (#127003).  It's then popped up on SU Dimensionals (#104430).

The Melon Mambo layer underneath was stamped with the "En Francais" background stamp (#109521) and Basic Black ink.  Then I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch (#118402) on all four sides.  See those fun Melon Mambo pearls in the four corners?  Wait!  We don't sell those!  Well....we sell the Large Pearls Basic Jewels (#125577).  I colored them using my Melon Mambo Stampin' Marker.  Woot!  The sweet, little butterflies were punched using the Elegant Butterfly Punch (#127526) out of a scrap of one of the prints from the DSP Brights Collection Paper Stack (#117155)  Who loves how all of our colors coordinate???  MEEEEEE!!!!  It makes creating coordinating items a "no brainer".

Ok....I'm off to get a few errands done and enjoy the gorgeous day.

Wishing you a most magical day,
