Part of our "World"

Hello from Walt Disney World!!!

We arrived here on Sunday via the Amtrak Auto Train (an hour early!) and we haven't stopped since!  We checked in at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and checked into our (jaw droppingly) gorgeous Grand Villa!  I think we're still pinching ourselves that we are here.  My parents arrived on the auto train yesterday morning and found their way over to our villa.  Mike, the kids and I are going went to Hollywood Studios yesterday for awhile and my parents hung out at the resort and went exploring and enjoyed a well deserved NAP.

Last night we had dinner at one of our favorite places, Whispering Canyon.  It's a fun restaurant at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort.  Let me just tell you that if you eat there....be SURE to ask for some ketchup!  You'll be glad you did!  Trust me. Mwah ha ha ha!

We had an incredible dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table (yep...IN the Castle!!).  We are celebrating Brittany and Sam's engagement while we are here so I know there will be LOTS more surprises in store.  They received their "We're Engaged" buttons to wear upon check in and they have their Bride and Groom mouse ears that they've been wearing proudly.  It's amazing how many cast members (and even regular guests) congratulate them and do things to make them feel special.  Here are a few pics to share...

Ok....I think I hear just about all of our crew up and eating breakfast so I'd best get a wiggle on and get ready for our fun day ahead at Epcot.  We're eating at another of our favorite restaurants today, The Garden Grill.  YUM!  If you're wondering where it's located (b/c it seems to be a little off the beaten path to some) it's in The Land right near Soarin'.  It's served "family style" and the entire restaurant rotates while you're eating your meal.  SO fun!!

So....from all of us to you.....HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!

Let the magic begin!

Hey there Peeps!!

As I type this I'm sitting in the waiting area in the Amtrak Station in Lorton, VA.  Our car has been loaded on the train car, we're all checked in, we have our dining reservations for the 7 p.m. seating and.....well....now we wait to board.  The energy level in our little group of five is pretty electric.  Everyone brought their own backpack with things to do on the train during the 12 hour trip to Florida.  As I've said before when we've left for vacation...."If I didn't pack it....I buy it there!"  Whew!

I don't take one second of this family adventure for granted.  We are extremely blessed to be able to share this trip with our family.  God is good!  I'm looking forward to having my laptop with me on the train with 12 hours to work on some new scrapbook layouts with My Digital Studio.  I have to tell you that I was NOT one who thought I'd ever enjoy digital scrapbooking because I love the paper/adhesive/embellishment route SO much.  But I have to say that I'm now officially and completely addicted!  It's so much fun using the same paper, embellishments and, yes, even stamps to create my pages.  The only difference is I don't have to use adhesive.

I started out with the FREE 30 day trial that SU! offers and it didn't take long for me to get hooked.  I'm looking forward to getting a few pages done during the trip.  I'll keep you posted.  If you ever decide you'd like to try it out and take it out for a spin, just go to my Online Stampin' Store and click to download MDS for FREE.

Today I thought I'd share a project with you that I created for a 3D swap at Convention.  I think that they are stinkin' cute.....I hope you do too.  Here you go....

These are what I like to call....."Cupcake Onesies".  They are made by rolling a baby washcloth up and then adding on a onesie ( I used Size 6-9 months).  I secured them together with a ponytail holder.  I then cut a piece of the Perfect Polka Dot Designer Series Paper and make a cupcake wrapper.  I cut a thin strip from a coordinating color and punched it with the Scallop Edge Punch and adhered it to the top edge.  I added a fluffy pom pom as the cherry on top with a small piece of Sticky Strip.  The "Sweet Baby" sentiment is from the "Bitty Banners" stamp set and I cut them out using the coordinating framelit dies.  I used my Paper Piercing Tool to poke a hole in one end and added a small safety pin from the Vintage Trinket Collection.

Wouldn't these be cute to decorate the tables at a baby shower??  SO sweet and SO fun.

Ok....I guess I'd better start gathering the troops and get ready to board the train soon.  Zach is like a helium balloon!  Wait until he see that our seats are on the upper deck!  LOL

Blessings to you my friends and I'll post again as soon as I can.

Have a magical day!

I like to move it, MOVE IT!

Happy TGIF Peeps!!!

I don't know about you but things are just a buzzin' around here today!  We are busy packing for our trip to Disney and getting things cleaned up and straightened up.  I can't believe it's finally here!  We leave tomorrow on the Auto Train in the late afternoon and will arrive in Florida Sunday morning!  Woot!  I feel incredibly blessed that we can spend our awesome vacation with our whole family this year.  **WARNING**  I will probably be posting lots of Disney photos so.....be prepared!  :-)

Today I have a fun project to share that uses the same stamp set as yesterday's share....
"MOVING FORWARD"  Like I said before, it's the Ronald McDonald House Charities set from SU! for this year and $3.00 from every set sold goes to RMHC.
Here's a peek at all the stamps in this fun set...

I love it!  It's fun and happy and really versatile.  You could ink up on the image or maybe just ink the greeting and get even more use out of this set.  Ok....Here's my project share for today....
It's a fun Gift Card Holder....

Isn't that fun?  I used the "Patio Party" Designer Series Paper because it just coordinates with the image perfectly.  The colors I used are Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple and Whisper White.
To make the holder for the gift card I just folded a piece of Midnight Muse card stock in half and ran it through the Big Shot with the Top Note Die.  Be careful to place the folded edge of the card stock just INSIDE the left edge of the Top Note so you don't cut through that edge completely.
I used a piece of the Midnight Muse Stitched Ribbon to finish it off.
Love it!
If you'd like to see all the designs in the Patio Party DSP pack, just click the link above on the right and go to my Online Stampin' Store.  It's open 24/7....no lines....no waiting!

Last night I had my Technique Boutique Club and we had a great time.  The girls learned 3 fun, new techniques and made 2 beautiful cards to take home.  We had a blast!
Here are a few of the ladies showing off their work....

Alrighty....I'd better get to packing.  I hope you like today's project and I hope you stop by again soon!

Wishing you a magical day!

Ok....now for a little "catch up"...

Whew!  I've been staring at my laptop across the room and seeing it staring back at me every time I walk past it....either on my way to or from the laundry room....while passing by on my way to WalMart for the 14th time....or as I leave to take the trash out to the curb.....  Well, you get the idea.

Yep.....that's as close as we've gotten to each other and to me having time to sit down and write a blog post.  Whew!!!!

First, let me just say that Convention was outstanding!  I saw SO many friends and fellow demonstrators that have become my dear friends and I also made a lot of new friends.  What a blessing.  I had a fantabulous time with my awesome friend, Rose-Ellen who I roomed with.  I don't have much (if any) time to enjoy any "girl time" normally and it was fantastic to just enjoy convention....go out to eat (in a restaurant! *gasp*)...hang out in our pj's and talk til late into the night...and just enjoy each other's company.  It's so rare to find a friend who really "gets" you and she definitely does.

I left Salt Lake City overwhelmingly inspired by not only the creativity that filled the Salt Palace Convention Center but by the incredibly generosity of such a thoughtful and giving company.  Stampin' Up! is truly a rare gem.  It's evident in all that they do.  It's easy to see where their priorities lie and I couldn't be prouder to represent such a fine company.

I got home and have unpacked clothes, swaps and all the other goodies that had my suitcase filled to overflowing.  Now I'm starting to refill the same suitcase (and many other bags) in preparation for our big vacation in Walt Disney World in...let's see....OH YEAH....  2 1/2 MORE DAYS!!!!  *panic eyes*
This is a BIG one, folks!   I know that YOU know that we love Disney.  Well, we are doing it up right this year.  There are eight of us heading to the most MAGICAL place on Earth.  It will be....me, Mike, Linz, Zach, Britt, Sam, and my Mom and Dad.  Woot!  We are beyond excited!!  We are staying at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa and for the first time ever we are staying in the....wait for it.....Grand Villa!!

I can't even believe it.  We joined Disney Vacation Club 5 years ago and this will be our first time in the BIG WHOPPER of a "room".  Ok...to be fair...it sleeps 12!  Holy cow!  Trust me....I'll be posting pictures.  You'll probably be wishing I would STOP!  LOL

While we are there we will be celebrating Brittany and Sam's engagement.  Yep, this Friday will start the one year countdown to their big day!  We are doing something really special at Disney for them.  I've arranged to have a Disney Wedding photographer take their engagement photos!!!  We're so excited!!  We went shopping and got them clothes to wear and they are scheduled to have their photos taken next Wednesday morning.  Morning....as in 7:45 a.m.!  WOWZA!  They like to take the photos before it gets hot and before the park opens.  Britt and Sam chose Epcot as their location and will be having photos taken in the World Showcase section of the park.  I can't WAIT!!!  We're hoping to use one or more of the photos for their Save the Date cards.  I'll keep you posted!!

Ok....as much as I'd like to keep rambling on and on....I really should get a little sleep.  Tomorrow is another jam packed day.  Thanks SO much for stopping by and checking in.  It means more to me than your know.

Mom....if you're reading this....GET PACKED!!  IT'S ALMOST TIME!!  :-)

Wishing you a magical day!

I am...

Hey there Peeps!!!

I'm trying so hard to get photos to upload so that I can share the DAY ONE of STAMPIN' UP! CONVENTION 2012 with you.....

It's already after 1 a.m. Salt Lake City time and I just can't keep my eyes open any longer.  :-(  I'm sorry....
I have SO much to tell you about my first day here and all the fun we've had so far.  But....I'm going to have to just leave you with the UH-MA-ZING way we started our day...

Each year SU! comes up with a theme song for convention and it's based on the convention theme itself....  I know...DUH!  Sorry....I'm tired!

This year's theme is "I am...."   They asked us to choose one word that we'd use to finish the statement about ourselves.  You know....like....I am....creative    or I am...a mom.....   well...you get the gist.....

So when opening session began this morning the lights dimmed and this is the video that began to play before our awesome leader...the founder of SU! came out on stage.....  It was put together by members of our corporate team in Riverton, Utah (where we visited yesterday)   Let me just tell ya.....the joint was jumpin'!

Ok, I'll leave you with this toe tappin' diddy for now.....  I promise I'll report in as soon as I'm able to stay awake and actually make a little more sense.

Wishing you a magical day.....

Hello from Salt Lake City!

Hey there Peeps!!!

I can't believe I'm here and it's even more amazing than I dreamed it would be.  No lie!

I was up and out the door this morning at 3:45 a.m. with Mike heading to the airport to catch my 6:00 a.m. flight.  I am SO blessed to have my very good friend and fellow stamper, Rose-Ellen, with me.  We actually ended up booking the same flights both ways.....without even knowing it!  Woot!  We are rooming with another stamper (whose name is Michelle too!) and we are all so happy to be here and even more excited that our big opening "General Session" is tomorrow morning.  Let me just tell you that NO ONE throws a party like Stampin' Up!  But....more on that later.

Right now I've been up for.....well....a LOT of hours with little to no sleep and I can't wait to turn off the light and snoooooooze!

But....before I do I just HAD to log on and post a blog entry that I've been just itching to post for the last month!!!!  As you know I was asked to be a Display Stamper for this year's convention and I wasn't allowed to share any of the projects with anyone until now.  Convention has begun and people have their cameras out all day long photographing away.  There are lots of amazing stampers here and I'm excited to see their work and get my creative juices flowing.

Ok....I just couldn't go to sleep tonight without showing you my favorite piece that I created for the displays.....  This one project took me 46 hours to complete.  Whew!  I can honestly say though that today when I saw it sitting there in the Convention hall on display that it was worth every single second!  Now....I have lots more pics to share but this project will be the sneak peek for today.  I hope you like it.

This is a "cake" created from all Stampin' Up! card stock and accessories.  All the flowers were handmade by me.

The back.....

I had a lot of fun creating all 26 projects for this event and I can't begin to tell you how excited I was to see all of them on display today when I arrived.  Here are a couple of smiles from when Rose-Ellen and I went over to see the displays....

Next to the cake...on the right....there are eight "place cards" I created to coordinate with the cake.

This is me with a beautiful stamper named, Susan McQuiston from Colorado.  She asked if she could have a photo taken with me and my cake!!!!  WOW!

Ok...I have to tell you that when I came around the corner and saw this sign I got a little choked up.  I'm really overwhelmed.

We also rode out to tour the Stampin' Up! Riverton Campus and Offices.  Here are a couple of smiles from there....

This is the gorgeous atrium inside the front of Stampin' Up! Corporate Offices in Riverton,  Utah

Ok....I have SO much more to share but the clock just struck midnight here in SLC and my body is telling me that it's 2 a.m.back home in VA!!  I'd better catch a few hours sleep before all the excitement begins in the morning.

Wishing you a very MAGICAL DAY!!

Stamped Blessings,

Watercolor Wonder and a Special Offer

Hello, my friends,

Today was a very busy day.  I had yet another doctor's appointment for my ankle.  It's kind of like I said last week....I feel ridiculous even reporting in about it anymore.  I was feeling SO hopeful last week when I went in to have the wound vac changed because things seemed to be healing really well at that point.  I'd already gone to see the plastic surgeon and gotten on his schedule for surgery for mid-August.  The plan was that he would do a a skin graft and close up the wound once and for all.  After the visit last week with my regular podiatry surgeon, it was looking like surgery may not be necessary.

Well, things have sort of come to a stand still and I had to have the wound vac put back on today.  It will be there until next Tuesday's visit.  I'm leaving for Convention on Wednesday morning so I'll be doing other bandaging and treatments while I'm gone.  Things could still change again.  I'm leaving it up to the Lord at this point.  :-)

Ok....now for some FUN.....  I've wanted to try working on a watercolor technique for some time and today was the day.  I can't believe how simple it was to do.  I used watercolor paper, my Stampin' Markers and an Aqua Painter.  Let me just tell you that the Aqua Painter is one of my new best friends.  It's one of those things that I'm sure will be just the tip of the iceberg because I'm already thinking of the next 10 projects I want to make using it.

Alright....Enough talk.....  Here's the card I came up with....

I absolutely love this technique.  It just adds so much dimension and it looks even prettier in person. The colors I used are Rich Razzleberry for the base Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Primrose Petals   The images were stamped in Black Staz-On.

Here's what the Aqua Painter looks like....

You fill them with water and the flexible brush tip is perfect for precise coloring.
Water coloring is one of the most requested techniques from my customers so I think they're in luck.  I'm in a water coloring frame of mind!

If you'd like to try out this awesome tool, just visit my Online Store by CLICKING HERE.

**SPECIAL OFFER**  If you place a $50 order before July 31st, you will receive your own Aqua Painter for 50% OFF.  ($50 order before tax and shipping)

If you'd like to come over and learn how to create beautiful watercolor creations of your own. there's still room in both of my Technique Clubs.

"Chic Techniques Club" - Meets the last Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at my house.  Class fee is $10 and includes your own "Techniques Journal" for you to add to at each class and to keep as a handy reference at home.

"Technique Boutique Club" - Meets the last Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at my house.  Class fee is $10 and includes your own "Techniques Journal" for you to add to at each class and to keep as a handy reference at home.

Both clubs learn the same techniques each month so if you miss your scheduled night you can always make it up on the other night.

Alrighty....I'm off to work on swaps for Convention.  I'm pretty sure I'll be working on them right up until I leave for the airport!  LOL  That's okay......it's SO worth it!

Wishing you a magical day,

"Minnie's" Not So Mini!

Happy Saturday!

Ok....I'm supposed to be down in my stamp room working on swaps for Convention but this card would NOT leave me alone until I made it.  Lately I've really been intrigued by different fold techniques and this one is so cool.

First let me show you my "inspiration"....

Yep!  It's my Countdown App on my iPhone!  This year's Disney trip is gonna be A-MA-ZING!  We are taking my parents and Britt's fiance, Sam this year and we're staying in the Grand Villa at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort. WOOO HOOOO!  Also exciting....while we're there, Brittany and Sam are having their engagement photos taken by a Disney photographer at Epcot's World Showcase.  Now THAT'S magical!!

Ok....  Enough about me.....  Here's what I came up with.....

When I first saw this fold technique I fell in love.  It's just really fun.  I've decided it's definitely one I'll have to make a video tutorial for.  Now here's what it looks like when you open it up...

I used Melon Mambo card stock as a base and embellished it with a little Basic Black and some coordinating Designer Series Paper. The "Wish Big" stamp is from the "WORD PLAY" Stamp Set.  (It really is a great set to have on hand in your stamp room...)  I stamped it in Versamark ink and embossed it with White Embossing Powder to make it pop.  Then.....I thought it needed a little pixie dust so I mixed up some Champagne Glimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol in a little spray bottle and spritzed the Minnie Mouse head and the two black side panels.  *BLING*  I also took another piece of the DSP and made a matching envelope.

See.......  So much fun from just a little card stock and DSP.

Easy....Peasy and fun....

I'm off to watch a movie with Linz.  She came in and said, "Mom, I need some Lady Twin Quality Time with you".  :-)  Now THAT just made my day.  Wish me luck cuz I'm sensing a few Smurfs in my near future.

Have a wonderful evening and I'll see you again soon!
