Sneak Peek - Card Caddy

Hey there, Peeps!

I'm back with a really FUN project share.  This project is made using a gorgeous, new stamp set from the NEW Stampin' Up! 2012-2013 Catalog that will make it's debut on June 1st.  This set is called "Betsy's Blossoms" and it's just adorable!  I added some new Designer Series Paper and one of the new embellishments.  You'll be hearing LOTS more about all of those after Just 1st....Trust me.

For now though....Here's my little "Card Caddy"...

This is the front view....I love the color combo!  It's just bright and happy...

Here it is opened up....There are 6 ea. - 3"x3" cards with coordinating envelopes inside.  The envelopes are really easy to make using just a few pieces of card stock and the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate.  FUN!!

Here's a view from the side when it's all closed and the cards are tucked neatly into the pockets.

With the end of the school year coming up quickly, I know I'm looking for fun, little gifts to give my son's teachers.  I think this one would be a perfect treat for them.  Don't you?  One great thing about this design is that you can you any number of stamp sets an themes with it.  Once again...the sky's the limit!!

Alrighty.....I'll sign off for now but I'll be back soon with another fun project share!  See you soon!

Have a magical day!

Amazing....

Zach - Wearing his first shirt and tie in his favorite color - RED.  SO handsome!

My Friends,

For those of you who who have been following along.....

I posted a graduation "favor" celebrating Zach's upcoming high school graduation and that in and of itself makes my heart sing.  But....today brought a new and incredible reason to celebrate here at our house.

When I logged on to my email at work this morning I received an email from Zach's teacher.  She wanted to ask that I make sure that Zach brings his cap and gown to graduation rehearsal.  Hmmm......That's a little out of the ordinary.  Then I read the next part....

"Zach will be having his picture taken at rehearsal because he will be graduating SUMMA CUM LAUDE!!!"

I started crying when I read it....and when I re-read it....and I'm crying now as I type it here to share with you, my friends.  Autism is here....but Autism hasn't won.  God continues to bless us and God wins!  He always wins.

Thank you, Lord for always keeping our children in the palm of your hand.  Thank you for knowing them before they were ever conceived within my body.  Thank you for allowing me the ultimate blessing of being their mother.  I praise You and I thank You for all You have done and all You continue to do in the lives of all three of our children.

God is good....All the time.

Blessings,

A Sweet Grad Treat

Hello Peeps!

Today's post will be short and oh, so sweet!

I'm having a blast creating with My Digital Studio!  Tonight I created these awesome wrappers for Zach's upcoming high school graduation.  As most of you know he is our gentle giant (6'6"!!!) and is autistic.  He is beyond amazing and we love him SO much.  He's worked so hard in school and we can't wait to scream and cheer for him as he proudly walks across that stage on June 11th to receive his diploma.

Hershey bars are his FAVORITE treat so it seemed quite fitting to make them the candy of choice for his graduation celebration.

Here's what I came up with....

I hope they make him smile!

If you'd like to try out My Digital Studio, just go to my Stampin' Up! Online Store and you can download a FREE 30 Day Trial.  You'll love it!!  It not just for scrapbooking!  The possibilities are endless.

Wishing you a magical day!

A Whole New World!

Hey there, Peeps!

Wow!  What a wonderful weekend we've had.  Linz, of course, will say (quite often), "Wow! This was the BEST day EVER!" and she totally means it.  She's said that a lot this weekend and it's been SO much fun spending family time together.

Before I get ready for bed I wanted to share a new project with you.  It's one that's been "outside my box" I think.  I am still getting my feet wet with Stampin' Up's "My Digital Studio" but let me just tell you that I'm more than just a little addicted!  There are SO many amazing digital stamp sets, papers, ribbons and accessories that come with the original bundle and every Tuesday SU! releases new downloads that you can purchase as you'd like.  They are SO  affordable and I love playing with the program and creating new and fun projects.

A few weeks ago I saw a post on Pinterest where someone had created paper bags by creating a saying on their computer and then she ran the bag through her printer and printed them out.  Well...my brain went straight to MDS and I thought, "OMG!!  Think of the possibilities by pairing the two ideas together!"  I have created a bunch on my computer and am starting to print them out onto bags.  This is the first on I made....

This is one of the stamp "brush" sets that comes with the original MDS program.  I added a few flowers and leaves and changed the colors to the ones I liked.  I punched out 3 flowers and embossed them to add a little "pop"....added a piece of ribbon and VOILA....a fun little gift bag.

Now....Stampin' Up! just announced that they will be premiering MDS2 very soon.  That is VERY exciting!  There are SO many things to create with it.  The possibilities are endless.   It's not just for scrapbooking.  That's for sure.  There are invitations, cards, shower favors, gifts items, signs, stickers, bags.......and MORE....

If you haven't tried it and you'd like to.....you can TRY IT FOR FREE FOR 30 DAYS!  That's right.  Just go to my Online Stampin' Store and you can download the My Digital Studio Program for FREE.  You can create projects and send them to be printed right from the comfort of your couch.  Your order will be delivered lickity split to your front door.  If you'd rather, you can save the projects to your computer and send them to your local photo place and have your projects printed there instead.  I send mine to Costco when I need them back in a hurry and can't wait.

I'll be sharing more MDS projects in the coming weeks so stay tuned.

Alrighty....I wish you all a wonderful week ahead.  We have quite a full calendar this week.  Whew!

Have a magical Monday and stop back by again soon!

Smooches and Belly Bands

Ok...I admit it.....  Sometimes when I have to think of a title for a post I get a little "punchy".  LOL
I guess it's obvious from tonight's post title, huh?

First, let me say that I had a wonderful Mother's Day today.  Mike and the kids made me a great breakfast and were so sweet taking care of me today.  I hate being on crutches and having to keep asking for help.  I need to invent something cute to carry "stuff" and use it in conjunction with my crutches.  Unfortunately everything I need to take from upstairs to downstairs and all around is just too heavy.  (mostly my laptop)  Anyway, I got to spend the afternoon down in my Stampin' Studio creating away.  It was awesome!  I really had those creative juices flowing today for some reason.  There are a couple of cards I made that I can share with you (one today and another one tomorrow) but the other project I worked on is one that I won't be able to share for awhile.  Why? You ask?  Well.....  I had an AMAZING email from Stampin' Up! Corporate last week.  I have been asked to be a "Display Demonstrator" for Stampin' Up's National Convention this year!!!  WOOT!!  Let me explain....

Every July Stampin' Up! holds it's annual National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. (it has been held in a couple of other locations in the past but it's been brought back to SLC to be near the corporate offices in Riverton, Utah).  I can't begin to put into words how incredible Convention is.  It is SO exciting and incredibly inspirational.  There are demonstrators from all over the US and Canada who attend.  I wouldn't miss it!  Stampin' Up! is SO generous and it is always a good idea to take an empty suitcase along with you to bring back all the FREE STUFF they give out while we are there. No kidding!

Along with all the classes, swaps, demonstrations and more, there are also HUGE displays that corporate puts together to showcase new and exciting products that have not yet been released.  These "displays" are created by individual demonstrators that are chosen by corporate and YES! I was chosen!!  Woooo HOOO!!  I have been asked to create 24 original projects with the top secret box of goodies they'll be sending me this week.  I am not allowed to show what I've created or talk about any of it until after Convention.  (Yep...I had to sign a confidentiality agreement so I'm NOT talking!!)  I am SO honored that they've asked me to be such a part of this year's event!!  My brain is just racing with ideas!!

Ok....so anyway.....back to today's card share.....  This card was created using the "Summer Smooches" Designer Series Paper and coordinating card stock.  I created a "belly band" closure just for a little fun.  Take a peek....

The card is made using a "gate fold" technique.  That just means the card opens from the center outwards.  The belly band is made from a strip of Rich Razzleberry card stock with a layer of DSP in a Tangerine Tango print that was embossed with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

See that stinkin' cute Whisper White stitched ribbon???  That's brand new and will be coming out in the new catalog!  Wait til you see the various colors!  I used my 1 1/4" and 1" circle punches to make the flowers on the band to coordinate with the DSP.  The leaves were punched from the Bird Builder Punch out of Lucky Limeade card stock.  I added a few buttons from the Brights Button Collection tied with a little Baker's twine to finish them off.  I then took a piece of DSP and used my Simply Scored to make a coordinating envelope.  They are SUPER quick and SUPER easy to make.  Want to learn how?  I can teach you!  :-)

Here's a peek at the inside....  Notice the embossed lines down the left side and the bottom.  Those were made using the Simply Scored just to add a little interest to the inside of the card.

I think the Summer Smooches DSP is one of my favorite designs.  I love how bright and cheery it is and it coordinates with some of my favorite colors too.

Ok....I guess that's it for now.  I need to hit the hay.  I'm heading back to work tomorrow on crutches.  I'm sure my students will be raring to go.  Have a blessed week and take some time out to do something creative.  It just makes you SMILE!

Have a magical day!

MDS & Skype

Happy Saturday!

It is absolutely GORGEOUS in Virginia today and I'm lovin' it!  I thought I'd share a new scrapbook layout I created using My Digital Studio today.  I remember seeing MDS for the first time and thinking, "Nope....Not my cup of tea because I ONLY like creating scrapbooks the old fashioned way".  Boy, was I wrong!  I can't even tell you how awesome it is having SO many choices of card stock, Designer Series Paper, embellishments, stamped images and MORE right at my fingertips.  It doesn't take a whole roomful of supplies to create my beautiful pages that we'll cherish for a lifetime and beyond.  It's just me...my laptop and a comfy chair on my deck.  It doesn't get any better than that!

One thing that Brittany and I love to do is chat over Skype when she's at her apartment in Harrisonburg and I'm here at home.  It's the next (almost) best thing to being there I guess.  A couple of weeks ago she was excited to show me her cap, tassle and gown as she was getting ready to graduate from college.  So....she shared it with me on Skype and I did a screen capture to save it.  Here's the layout I created to save the memory for a lifetime.

I love the way the layout came out.  It's fun and the colors just seem to "pop" off the page.  I edited the photo using a sepia filter and by using the Marina Mist and Crushed Curry colors around it I thing it just draws you right into the photo.

Sweet Pea in a Pod

Happy Monday!

Today's card share is one I've had in my head for a while now and finally put together.  We've had such a busy weekend with Brittany's college graduation and it was really nice to spend some time in my stampin' studio and create something fun and light.  I hope you like it.

I drew the pea pod shape freehand and cut it out of Lucky Limeade card stock.  I then punched out three vines from the Bird Builder Punch.  The baby girl is made using the 1" circle punch and the Scallop Oval Punch.  The 1/8" Pretty in Pink ribbon  is braided and used to "suspend" the pea pod from the Pretty in Pink Seam Binding bow.  The DSP I used is from the Nursery Nest DSP Collection. Here's what you get in the pack...

"Nursery Nest" is retiring so if you like it....order it soon.  It's going away forever.  :-(

I used my Simply Scored Diagonal Plate to make the grid pattern to mimic a baby quilt to add a little dimension.  The "Congratulations" sentiment is from the "Curly Cute" stamp set.  I love the font so much.

I'm really happy with the way it turned out and I hope you do too.  I'm working on some other fun punch art creations so stay tuned.

Have you checked out all the Retiring Stamps and Accessories yet?  If not, check them out at my Online SU! Shop.  It's open 24/7 so you can even shop in your pj's!

Wishing you a magical Monday,

Proud Mama!

Hello All!

I'm posting today as a PROUD MAMA.  We are busy getting ready to head to Harrisonburg this weekend for our daughter, Brittany's college graduation.  I haven't had much time to stamp this week but I thought I'd share a few smiles with you to brighten your day.  These are a few of the grad photos I took of Britt a couple of weeks ago.  I have to say it comes in handy having a photography business on the side sometimes.  :-)  Too bad I can't photograph the wedding! HAHAHA
