One Sheet Treat

Hey there, Peeps!

Whew!  I just finished watching the finale of Dancing with the Stars.  WOOT!  I loved Melissa and Shawn and I'm thrilled that they were the top two and REALLY happy that Melissa won so that her pro partner, Tony, could win that coveted mirror ball trophy.  Ok...I'm not crazy.  Just love the show.

Now...I wasn't just a couch potato tonight.  LOL  I actually had a wonderful group of ladies here for the Chic Technique class tonight.  I have two technique classes here every month.  They are held the last Tuesday and Thursday of each month.  If you'd ever like to come and join in the fun, just email me.

Sometimes the ladies learn 3 or 4 stamping techniques and other times I throw in items that might be unique folds or fun 3D designs.  Tonight we made 3 projects and there were lots of different techniques used in all of them.

Here's the first of the three projects.  It's a "One Sheet Treat Box".
Just like the name says....it's a treat box made from one piece of
8 1/2" x 11" card stock.

I love how quick and easy these boxes are to make.  It's a perfect way to package small treats or gifts and make them look really special.  I will be creating a video tutorial of this project and posting it here on my blog so stay tuned.

Ok....time for bed.  Come back soon to see the other two techniques/projects we made.

Now....go stamp something!  It's sure to make your day more magical!

Snow Fun!

Hey Stampin' Friends,

If you're reading this....that means my Fall Break is officially over and I'm back at work.  I'm sure all of my students will be pumped and ready to learn today!  *choke...cough...sputter*

I thought I'd start the week off with a fun card share for you....  This one shows that Christmas and other holiday cards don't have to "follow the rules" when it comes to color schemes.  Let me show you what I mean...

I know some people think that snow is a pain in the patootie but I love it and I love how cozy our home feels while we watch it come down.  Snow days don't hurt either!!

Today begins the official "countdown to Christmas Break" at school and I'm ready.  I love this time of year!

Alrighty....that's all from here.  Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

Stamped Blessings,

Elegant Peace on Earth

Hello, My Friends,

Well....the Christmas tree is up and in the process of being decorated.  It really IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas at our house!

I thought I'd share another one of the cards from yesterday's Christmas Fun class.  This was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest and put my own little "spin" on it.

The card base and top layer are both Cherry Cobbler and the middle layer is Whisper White.  The flourish stamp is from the "Everything Eleanor" stamp set.  It's such a versatile set and I love how it works on this elegant Christmas card.  The flourish and the "Peace on Earth" greeting from the "Greetings of the Season" stamp set were both stamped with Versamark Ink and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  I then punched the sentiment out using the Ornament punch..  The bow is made with Cherry Cobbler seam binding and I fastened it together in the middle with a gold glimmer brad....which just happen to be ON SALE right now at the SU! Online Extravaganza.  Woot!!!  They are 30% OFF!!

Check out all the goodies at my Online Stampin' Store by just Clicking Right Here

The sale will end in 3 short days so make sure you stock up before it ends.

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday.  Now, go stamp something!  :-)

Perfectly Punchy Christmas

Happy Saturday All!

I've been getting ready for my stampin' girls to arrive this afternoon and all the while I can hear a cold, blustery wind blowing outside.  Whew!  I'm glad we'll be snug inside where it's toasty warm, listening to Christmas tunes and stamping!  I thought I'd share one of the cards we'll be making today.  It's a fun and whimsical Christmas card made with a little "punch art"...

Isn't he fun??  I love punch art!  This fun, little guy was made using the Owl Builder Punch and some Soft Suede card stock for the head and Basic Black and Whisper White card stock for the eyes.  Then I used the Snowflake Punch and some Sahara Sand card stock for the antlers.  I, of course, thought he needed a shiny, red nose so I added a red Glimmer Brad.  The wreath was made using Gumball Green card stock and the Scallop Circles Die for the Big Shot.  Once it was cut out I embossed it with the Petals-a-Plenty Folder and then punched out the center with one of my Circle Punches.

The edges of the wreath are sponged as well as the reindeer's head just to give it a little dimension.
The card base was made using Very Vanilla card stock and the Scallop Square Die for the Big Shot.  I layered a piece of Gumball Green and a smaller layer of the Red and Vanilla Chevron print from the Festival of Prints Designer Paper Stack.  I LOVE that pack of paper!  There are so many great prints and they are the perfect way to add life to your projects.  To finish it off, I added a bow on the bottom of the wreath.
It's an Easel Card!  SO fun!
I hope the girls like their projects today.  I'll be back to share the other cards soon so stay tuned.

Wishing you a happy and relaxing Saturday!

Santa's Swankie Hankie

Ok.....I need to go to bed!!

I had this project in my head all day long and I couldn't go to sleep until I tried it out...

I found some of the cutest Christmas themed tissues at Target's Dollar Stop!!
I'm SUCH a geek!!  I was positively GIDDY when I saw the designs they had.  I thought this would be a fun  little gift for those with sniffly winter noses.
Oh, come on!  You know you'd love to have some of these!  LOL

The hankie box was made using the Top Note Die for the Big Shot and a little strip of card stock that I measured to fit around the hankies as a little "box".  I embossed the lid with the Argyle Embossing Folder for fun....added a strip of Basic Black card stock for a belt.....punched out a "belt buckle" from Brushed Silver card stock....and, oh yeah!....the fur....The fur is made from a cotton circle face cleaning thingy that I can't remember the name of because it's so late!

The card was made using MDS2!!  I created a "Tag" and printed it out here in my studio....cut it out....matted it on Whisper White card stock and then put it all on a Real Red card base.  The "belt" on the card is made from a piece of the 1/2" Striped Grossgrain Ribbon in the Holiday Mini.  Yep!  The one that is shown on a Halloween project!  Woot!  More ways to use that ribbon!!  I added a cutie patootie Designer Ribbon Slider that can be found in the Holiday Mini also.  Both projects were "sparkled up" by adding just a few spritzes of the Champagne Shimmer Paint.

Now isn't that FUN???  Who knew tissues could bring so much joy??

Ok....I really DO need to go to bed.  I'm just punchy.
(Mike is on travel and I hate sleeping alone....I put it off as long as possible)

Wishing you a magical day!! (Well...tomorrow....)

Stamped Blessings,

The Reason for the Season

Hello my friends,

I have a project share today that I really do love.  I made it as my "Secret Santa" gift for our TDS Team Meeting this past weekend.  I love seeing the girls on our Trinity Design Stampers team and just having time to enjoy each others company.  We had our Christmas  Celebration early since we don't have a meeting in December.  Here's what I made....

I was thrilled with the way it turned out and I was even more thrilled that my friend and upline, Robin, was the one who received it.  I'd like to take credit for creating the awesome subway art with the scripture but I can't.  I found it online when I googled "Christmas Subway Art".  I do, however, plan on creating some of my own designs using MDS2.  :-)

I started with a simple wood frame from the craft store (for $1.00!!)  I then used Tombow adhesive glue to adhere the gorgeous Designer Series Paper to the front.  This particular pattern is from the "Candlelight Christmas" Designer Series Paper Pack #126901.  I inked the edges and the back of the frame with Early Espresso ink for a more "finished" look.  I then stamped a few of the ornaments from the "Ornament Keepsakes" stamp set with Versamark ink and embossed them with White Embossing Powder to make the "pop".  I then cut them out using the handy dandy "Holiday Ornaments" Framelit Dies for the Big Shot.  SUPER easy!

I added the strip of Very Vanilla card stock stamped with the "Merry Christmas" greeting from the "Greetings of the Season" stamp set in Early Espresso ink to match.  I tied it all together with the Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Tulle.  I hope that Robin and her family enjoy it for many, many Christmases to come.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit today!

Simply Said

Hello, my friends,

Happy Veteran's Day.  It's been a quiet day here at our house.  I'm finally getting over the flu bug that came to call last week.  WOOT!  I'm at the tail end of it and let me just say that it can't get out of here soon enough for me!

I actually went into the studio today and created a couple of things.  The theme for today is "clean and simple".  If you'd love to make your own Christmas cards this year....this could be the style for you.  It's quick...easy....and elegant.

The card base is  made from Whisper White card stock.and then  I added a piece of the same color that's just a tad smaller.  It is embossed with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder and then stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink with the "Greetings of the Season" stamp from the "Greetings of the Season" stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I added a few of the Pearls Basic Jewels to make it "pop".

I added a beautiful greeting from the "More Merry Messages" stamp set inside.
Now...you could stop there if you'd like and it would be beautiful....
But I stepped it up another notch with a little strip of Cherry Cobbler cut in a zig zag design using the "Tasteful Trims Bigz XL" die for the
Big Shot.

Now for the envelope....

I jazzed it up a little using some of the same supplies.  How fun is THAT?

Wishing you a wonderfully relaxing Sunday and a great week ahead.

Any Turkey Can Tango!

Hey there, Peeps!

Happy Election Day!  Today is actually a Teacher Workday here so Linz and Zach are enjoying lounging at home today.  Some of us still had to go to work.  *sigh*  Oh well....

The two projects today will hopefully bring a smile to your face.  The title of this entry, "Any Turkey Can Tango" is actually the name of a song my kindergarteners sang every year in the fall.  You haven't lived until you've watched a group of cutie patootie 5 yr. olds perform this little diddy!  :-)

Here are the two projects....

I can't take credit for that stinkin' cute turkey.  I'm not sure who the original designer was but "GOOD JOB" to you!  The project on the left is a 4"x4" note card to give with the little "Turkey Treats" Tic Tac project.  Or you can give them out separately.

They are both super simple to make.  You just need a couple of punches, the Square Lattice Embossing Folder #119976 and some Googlie Eyes #127539 and VOILA!  The cover for the tic tac container was made using the Two Tags Die #115954 for the Big Shot.  It was cut out of Chocolate Chip card stock and then embossed with the folder.  The "turkey feathers" were made using various colors of card stock and the 1 1/4" Scallop Punch  #127811 in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  The beak, the "snood" - that's the red thingy hanging over the beak, the "comb" - that red thingy on his head and feet are made using the same scallop punch and just trimming them to create the desired shapes.  The head is made using the 3/4" Circle Punch #119873 and the body was made with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch #119850.

There are so many ways to use your punches and creating tons of fun projects.  I just love finding new ways to use them.  The sky's the limit!

Tuesday Digital News....
If you have checked yet....be sure to check out today's new MDS2 digital downloads. There are lots of digital stamps and accessories  for football, baseball, softball, soccer, hockey and LaCrosse.  There's even and awesome template for a "Game Day Photobook".  You just need to choose your photos and it creates it for you!  What great gifts those would make!

I Do....

Hey there, Stampers,

Happy Saturday!  Today I have a sweet card design to share with you.  My daughter, Brittany, is working as a bridal consultant (and rockin' it...I might add!).  She asked me to design some cards for her to send her brides after they've purchased their dresses.

Here's what I came up with...

She wanted them in an assortment of colors so these are in Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry and Pacific Point.  The Whisper White panel on the front is embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (#120175) for the Big Shot.  I then stamped a smaller piece of Whisper White with the gorgeous wedding dress stamp from the "Love and Laughter" stamp set (Wood Mount #125475/Clear Mount #125477) with VersaMark Ink (#102283).  I sprinkled on some of the Pewter Embossing Powder (#124114) and heated it up with my Heat Tool (#129053).  It just "pops" off the page!  Doesn't it?  I then did the same with the "Congratulations" stamp from the same set and used scraps of the matching card stock.

They are such simple cards but look oh, so elegant.

Wishing you a magical day!

It's HERE!

Hello, my stampin' friends and happy TGIF!

Well....it's FINALLY HERE!

Stampin' Up!'s brand new Paper Trimmer has arrived and it's available for order.  Now you may be saying, "I already have a paper trimmer....I don't need another one."  Well, hang on to your hats because this trimmer is like none (and I've had quite a few...) that I've ever owned.  Here's what it looks like....

It has an extended cutting area and lots of other "bells and whistles" and the cutting surface is also sealed so your cutting guide will never wear off.  Love it!  We've been waiting for this for a long time.  Thanks, Stampin' Up!  Crafting just got tons easier (and STRAIGHTER!)

Exciting News!

Hello, my stampin' friends!

I'm SO excited.....and I just can't hide it!

I have an awesome, new project to share and THAT'S not even the most exciting part!
I've created my first ever "kit" that is complete with the directions and assorted parts and pieces so that you can create one (or MORE) of your very own!  Isn't that COOL?  First let me show you the project and then I'll give you all the kit and ordering details.

This is the "Secret of Life" Calendar....

The calendar is in a clear "Desktop Display Calendar Case". (Sort of an oblong CD case)  Enclosed there are four backgrounds...one for every three months...they are designed to be used with the interchangeable calendars for December, January, February - March, April, May - June, July, August and September, October, November.

There's one panel that can be stamped with a sentiment or your can use the panel as a mat for a photo that can be changed out and it coordinates with all four seasonal backgrounds.  The sentiment above was cut using the Window Frames Framelits (sold separately #129021 - $26.95)  and there are 12 calendars mounted on separate card stock squares that each coordinate also.  The backgrounds have two Velcro fasteners...one on either end.  The sentiment and calendar pieces have matching Velcro pieces also.  The pieces can be used on the right or the left side....whichever the user prefers.  You could also change the calendars out and use photos instead.

This is the background for June, July and August

The calendars are in a cute, little box that keeps them all safe and sound until they're ready to be used.

Sweet box that holds all the calendars for safe keeping...

These would make fantastic gifts for the holidays or any occasion for someone special.  (I'm thinking my secret pal will be getting one for Christmas!  Ssshhhh!)
