Good Morning, My Friends,

Well the winds from Sandy have subsided and we are doing fine.  We never lost power.  Whew.  It sounds like the flooding has just begun.  We continue to pray for everyone affected.

I've had lots of time to stamp and create while we've been home from work and school hunkered down.  This project is one that I'm really proud of.   This project started with a simple wood frame from the Dollar Section at my local craft store.  The sentiment stamp "Home is wherever I'm with you..." was one that Brittany saw when the new catalog came out.  She said, "MOM! Sam and I say that to each other all the time!  You need that stamp!" So it's going to be one of the first Christmas decorations for Brittany and her fiance, Sam.  I hope they'll keep it for a very long time....

The "Snow Festival" Designer Series Paper was a perfect companion to the stamp.  The Cherry Cobbler borders were cut using the Tasteful Trims Die for the Big Shot and then layered it on Crumb Cake card stock.

The sentiment is embossed with Early Espresso Embossing Powder and then cut out using the Framlits Window Frames

Stocking Stuffers with Scraps

Hey there, Stampin' Friends!

Well the wind is howling outside my window but we are safe and dry so far.  The tv reporters keep saying that we haven't seen much of Hurricane Sandy yet.  Wow....I'm not sure I want to think about what's in store later this evening.

I've been in my studio this morning creating and here's one of the fun projects I came up with.  These are what I like to call......

Stocking Stuffers with Scraps...

I created the fun bag toppers using a few stamps...some scraps....and some fun embellishments.  The awesome Mary Englebreit nail files are from the dollar section at a local store.  I'm thinking these would get BIG smiles on Christmas morning.  Stockings are one of my favorite parts of Christmas morning.

Just a little crafty inspiration for you today.....

Praying for all who are in the path of the storm.  Please stay safe.

Suave Suede

Hello My Stampin' Friends,

What a busy week we've had here at our house.  Mike was traveling and actually got to come home a day early.  YAY!  We were all very happy to see his smiling face when he came through the door tonight.

I had some wonderful ladies here tonight for Technique Boutique class.  We had such a relaxing time and they loved their new techniques.  I thought I'd share one of them with you today.  It will be a sneak peek for all of you coming to Chic Techniques next Tuesday.  ;-)

This fun technique is called Faux Silk...

Isn't that texture just YUMMY?  The Whisper White panel is covered with a piece of white tissue paper that was stamped with leaves from the "Gently Falling" stamp set.  The images are just beautiful.

Wood Mount: #123802       Clear Mount: #123804

I stamped the solid images in More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie and I stamped the outline images in Early Espresso.  I also added a little "umph" by using the Color Spritzer Tool and my Early Espresso Stampin' Marker.  It's such a cool way of adding more interest to your piece.

Color Spritzer Tool: #107066

After I stamped the images I crumpled up the tissue paper very small.  I unfolded it and spread it back out being careful not to smooth out all of the wrinkles.  THAT'S what we want it to have.  I then used my Multi Purpose Glue Stick and completely covered the piece of card stock that was already the size I wanted it.  I layered the stamped tissue on top of it and smoothed it out.  You can then just trim off the excess or you can wrap the excess on the sides around and adhere them to the back of the piece.  It is a gorgeous technique and you can use it with tons of different stamp sets.

The greeting and the Pumpkin Pie base it's mounted on are both cut with the Big Shot and the "Window Frames" Designer Framelits.  I embossed the larger of the two with the Wood Grain Embossing Folder.  I then sponged a little Early Espresso ink on it to bring out the grain texture.

If you'd like to browse and shop....my Online Shop is open 24/7.  Just Click Here and you be on your way.

Now...I'm off to get ready for Friday and the "Frankenstorm"....It should be an interesting weekend.

Wishing you a magical day,

A Little "Spider Cider"

Happy Tuesday!

My stampin' gals were here in the house tonight for my "Falling for Fall" stamp camp.
Here's one of the fun projects that they made.

With the crisp autumn air "SPIDER CIDER" is the perfect way to warm up...

This little cutie is made using the "Mini Milk Carton Bigz L Die" for the Big Shot.
Mini Milk Carton Bigz L Die = 117310 - $32.95
It's cut out of Tangerine Tango card stock.  I then added a strip of "Howlstooth and Scaringbone" Designer Series Paper (#126906) to "snazz" it up a bit.  The "lollie" on the front is made with Basic Black card stock (#121045).  The "Spider Cider" stamp is from the "Monster Munchies" stamp set (Wood Mount #127904/Clear Mount #127907).  I punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch (#119859)...No fuss...No muss!  Of course I just HAD to add the Ghoulish Googlie Eyes. (#127539)  Aren't they so stinkin' cute?

To finish it off, I took a packet of Hot Cider Mix and rolled it up and put it into the carton and added a little spider ring just for giggles.  :-)

Toxic Treats....Yum!

Hey there, Peeps!

I'm so excited to share today's project with you.  This is one of the three projects we made tonight at my "No Tricks...Just Treats" Stamp Camp and it's a project that was designed by another SU! demonstrator, Tami White.  We had so much fun creating and laughing together tonight.

It's created with the Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper.  It is seriously one of the best DSP packs EVER!  I love it that it's equally gorgeous on both sides.....that "Tangerine Tango" gets me every time!

Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper                126906
The fun witch stamp is from the "Toxic Treats" stamp set. and is stamped in Black Staz On ink on a clear window sheet.  Here are the images that are included in the set....

Toxic Treats Clear-Mount Stamp Set           127901
I used the "Scallop Square" die for the Big Shot and embossed it using the "Spider Web" Embossing Folder to add a little extra "pop".

I added a piece of Sticky Strip around the top of the box and sprinkled on the Champagne Glass Glitter.  I added one of the new Copper Buttons with a piece of Linen Thread tied in a bow through it.

All these supplies and so much more can be found at my Online Stampin' Store.  To visit....just click HERE .  You can also see all of my upcoming stamp camps listed on my calendar while you're there. Stop by and check it out...no lines...no waiting and the lights are always on.  :-)

A Bootiful Bride

Hey there, Peeps!

Welcome to October!  I don't know about your neck of the woods but there's a definite "nip" in the air here in Virginia.  I love it!

I'm trying hard to work on more than just my fall and Halloween projects but that's proving to be a challenge.  Take this little lady for instance....  She's been rattling around in my head for over a week now and I finally had to just pull out my punches and bring her to life.
I call her "Francine"...

Isn't she just "boo-tiful"??   I like to think that she and her hubby, "Frank" are quite the happy couple.  :-)  Of course I'm spoofing the infamous "Bride of Frankenstein".....

Francine is on the front of a fun "easel" card.  Here's a peek at it opened up...

Now isn't that just FUN?  I know I'd be thrilled to get this in the mail inviting me to a fun Halloween party.  Check out the side view....

For those of you who love punch art like I do....here's a list of the punches I used...

Scallop Oval - #119856 - Hair do
1 1/4" Circle - #119861 - Face
Owl Builder - #118074 - Eyes and Nose
Blossom Builder - #121808 - Collar
Ornament - #119847 - Blouse

The card was cut using the "Labels Collection" Framelits - #125598.  Easel cards are so simple and fun and a great way to change things up a bit.

I hope Francine brightens your day and helps you get into the spirit of fall.  If you'd like to get a little "punchy" and make a few critters of your own, you can find all the supplies you need at my Online Stampin' Store.  Just CLICK HERE.  No lines...No waiting and the lights are always on.

Wishing you a Happy Fall,
