Decorate a Daisy

Hello All and Happy Thursday,

A photo I took of the fireworks and edited....
We had a great 4th yesterday.  It was wonderful spending time with family.  I really do love the feel in our little town.  The fireworks were amazing and the rain held off until after it was all over.  It's amazing to think that we had two kids who used to HATE all things fireworks and now wouldn't miss them.  I think Disney had something to do with that.  (at least that's what I tell myself)  Here are a couple of smiles to share...

Brittany and Sam - Next year at this time we'll be getting ready for the wedding!

Before we left for the festivities in Old Town Manassas, I had a little time to stamp and I worked on a few swap ideas for Convention.  This is a card I made to send to a friend while I was working.  It's made using the new "Decorate A Daisy".  It's one of the sets I red flagged when the new catty came out as a "must have".  :-)  To be honest my catty looks a little ragged with all the Post-It notes hanging out of it but that's ok, right?  Ok....Here's the card...

Here are the deets...  I stamped the daisy image in Daffodil Delight ink on Whisper White card stock.  I then stamped the black gingham centers on a scrap of white and punched them out.  (To be honest, it's just easier to line them up that way)  I adhered them all and then ran the entire piece through the Big Shot in the new Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.  It looks like this...

Fancy Fan Embossing Folder - 127751 - $7.95

It's a great way to make your own "background paper".   It comes out looking like one piece of card stock.  Sweet!
I then stamped the image again and cut it out and did the same with the center of the flower.  I popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals and added one of the little birds too just for fun.
Here are the stamps in the "Decorate a Daisy" stamp set...

I just love it and I can't wait to use it again and again.  If you'd like to learn the technique used on this card and LOTS more, you might like to join one of my technique clubs.  We meet once a month and you will get your own Techniques Journal to keep that you'll add to each month and it will be a terrific resource for you to have in your craft room.  Both clubs learn the same 3-4 techniques each month.  CHIC TECHNIQUES CLUB meets the last Tuesday of the month and TECHNIQUE BOUTIQUE CLUB meets the last Thursday of the month.  Send me a note if you'd like to join.  It's only $10 a month and all your supplies (and fun!) are included.

Alrighty then....I guess it's time for me to fix a little dinner and then get busy working on my swaps for convention.  I can't believe two weeks from right now I'll be sitting in the Salt Palace Convention Center!!  Will I see YOU there??  Give me a shout out if you're attending Convention 2012~  I am.....GOING!

Have a magical day!
