Happy Sunday Stampers!
It's supposed to "feel" a little more like spring here in Virginia today. I sure hope so. I'm tired of being cold while I'm enjoying the daffodils and pansies!
I saw some beautifully crafted paper pansies recently that were created by fellow stamper, Cathie Smith, and I just had to try making a few of my own. Here's what I came up with....
This is a little box made using the "Pillow Box" die and the Big shot. I cut it from Very Vanilla card stock and then embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I made the large pansy using one of the hearts from the new Heats Framelits on the Big Shot. I cut 2 hearts from Concord Crush, 2 from Wisteria Wonder and 1 from Daffodil Delight. I then cut the hearts in half and rounded the edge that wasn't rounded already. Then I used my black Stampin' Write Marker and drew the veins on each petal. Then I adhered them together with SNAIL and layered them together. I added a Large Pearl Basic Jewel in the center. The Pear Pizzazz leaves are made using the Blossom Building Punch.
The ribbon....ah, the ribbon. I didn't have any ribbon that would coordinate so I took a piece of the Very Vanilla Seam Binding and using my Concord Crush Stamp Pad and a sponge, I sponge-dyed the ribbon to match. How cool is THAT? It's absolutely lovely in person.
For the enclosure card I used the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch and punched all the petals and layered them the same as the larger version. I added a pearl from the other Basic Jewels pack for the center.
I then punched a hole using my Cropodile and added a little piece of the ribbon as a "pull". This would be a terrific gift card holder as well and could be just the perfect gift for so many different occasions.
Doesn't it just make you feel spring in the air?
Wishing you a delightful, "springy" Sunday surrounded by
the ones you love.
Just Gorgeous!
