Get the most bang for your buck!

Ok....I seriously couldn't wait to share this with you!  The kids and I were at Target tonight and I was picking up a few things for my class party this Friday and, as always, I had to make one trip through Target's "Dollar Stop" before we left.  I'm so glad I did!

Now I know things are pretty tough on the financial front for many right about now and personally....planning two graduations and a wedding make me even more conscious of what I'm spending.  So....this project just "fits the bill".  LOL  Ahem....sorry.

I found a stinkin' cute watering can and I thought.....Hmmmm......I know exactly what I want to make with THAT little puppy! it is.....

Isn't that just FUN???  I had a blast putting it together and let me just tell was SO inexpensive to make.

Here's the close up of the flowers....

Here are the details....

The flowers are made using Designer Series Paper from the "Designer Series Pattern Stack - Brights Collection" - #117155.  I used the "Mixed Bunch" Stamp Set - # 125537 and stamped the flowers using Black Staz-On Ink.  I then used the matching punch and  punched them out lickety split.  I then used covered wire and adhered pieces to the backs of the flowers as the stems.  Then using Sticky Strip Adhesive, I adhered Easter colored Rolo Canides to each Blossom.  Cool, huh??

I added some fun, bright green, paper Easter basket grass to the watering can and stuck the flowers in and arranged them.  I added a strip of paper from the same DSP stack after running it through the Paper Crimper just to add a little interest.  It's also adhered using Sticky Strip.  I used the Oval Embossing Folder and the Big Shot to make a frame for the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the "Perfect Punches" Stamp Set.  I used the XL Oval Punch to punch it out and adhered it to the oval frame and adhered it to the paper strip.  I then finished it off with a bow made from the Daffodil Delight Striped Grossgrain Ribbon and VOILA!

Now....I'm not gonna lie.  My brain is now BUZZING with ideas of people I want to make these for as an Easter/Spring gift.  After all....I got A LOT of BANG for my BUCK!  :-)

Not a PEEP!

Hey there Stampers!

I know I've been MIA for a few days.....  So sorry about that.  Even Mike asked me today when the last time I posted on my blog had been.  Who knew?
It's been a crazy busy week here at home and at work.  Here are a couple of updates for you....

- Mike is healing very nicely from his surgery and his "wound" is looking really good.  Thanks for all your prayers.  :-)
- Zach has been "using words" quite often lately and we are beyond thrilled.  Praise the Lord for answered prayers!
- Linz continues to do really GREAT at her "job" in Radiology at the hospital.  So well, in fact, that they are considering her for a permanent position at the hospital!!  She completely ROCKS all the clerical duties that her position requires.  Tomorrow they are going to assess her phone skills to see how she handles the stress.  She has been twitterpated this weekend and has said several times that she sure wishes I could go with her because she's "terrified".  Please pray that she'll have peace throughout the assessment and she'll come through it with flying colors.  What an amazing achievement it would be for her to get hired and have benefited employment.
- Britt and I had quite a milestone day yesterday.  We ordered her wedding dress!!!  It is the most gorgeous dress and she is stunning in it.  We had a great day together and I once again was SO grateful to get to share that special experience with her.  Here's a photo that the salon ladies took of us after we placed the order.  The brought out two glasses of sparkling cider for us so we could toast to the special day.

Only five days of school and then we get a glorious week off for Spring Break!!  I can't wait!  I guess I do have spring on the brain as you'll see in my stampin' project share for today.

Here it is.....Are you ready????

Isn't that fun?  If you've followed my blog for awhile you know that I LOVE Peeps!  These just make me smile!  The bunny peeps line the sides of the jar and the center is filled with Easter M&M's.  YUM!  Now that's just HAPPINESS in a jar if you ask me!

Alright....Don't forget that time is running out on Sale A Bration.  March 31st is the last day to take advantage of the SAB freebies.  You can place your order either on my Stampin' Up! website or you can email me and I'll order it for you.

Have a wonderful Monday and make it a MAGICAL week!

Tiskets and Taskets

Hey there, Peeps!

Ok....let me just start by telling you that this project wouldn't leave me alone!  No kidding!  I've had this one in my head for about a week and I finally gave in and put it all together....and I'm SO glad I did.  It just makes me happy.  :-)  I love Gerber Daisies and they seemed like the perfect addition to this project.   I'm so excited to share it with you!

So....I've seen this basket design several places and I just fell in love with it.  It's a different design than lots of the ones I've seen.  I love the shape of it and just the way it's "layered".  Here's a photo of the completed basket with the items I made to put in it.  I'll show you those separately too.  \
Here you go...

Ok...I know you can't really see the basket design itself from this photo.  Here are the other parts and pieces....

Here's the basket empty without the goodies inside.  I made my version of a Gerber Daisy from Melon Mambo and Basic Black Card Stock using the Flower, Daisies #2 die for the Big Shot.  I added a Basic Black Button for the flower center.  I layered it on a bow made from the Black/White Striped Grossgrain Ribbon  I punched leaves from both the Blossom Builder Punch and the Bird Builder Punch.  The basket is made from Naturals Ivory Card Stock and I shredded a bit of the same for the basket filler.

This is a pack of Ice Breaker Sours candy that I decorated to coordinate with the basket.  Here's what the candy looks like before the decorations...

Then I added a little cello bag filled with Hershey's Kisses and a "Happy Birthday" tag.

So there you have it...a perky project to brighten your day.
I hope you like it.

Wishing you a magical day,

Inspiration is Everywhere

Happy Monday Stampers!

It's shaping up to be a lovely week here in Virginia!  WooHOO!  I woke up this morning and I could hear the birds singing.  Ahhhhh.  I love it.  Well, I love it until that darn mockingbird returns to the tree outside out bedroom window.  That bird makes the weirdest sounds!  One morning we woke up thinking we heard a car was the mockingbird!  Oh well....spring is "springing"!

I had someone ask me the other day where I get inspiration from when I'm creating new projects.  It's funny because I've found inspiration from places like the candy aisle at WalMart to magazines to Pinterest to the grocery store.  You never know.....but it's out there.
Saturday Linz and I went shopping and we were in the Hanes Outlet....  Yep, we were bra shopping!!  (Just keeping it real...)  While I was walking through all the racks and displays something colorful caught my eye.  It was a small table with a fun display of packets of tissues.  Yep, in those Kleenex sort of things.
They were in the most adorable colors and patterns!  Lots of spring designs!  Woot!
I started looking through them and I found not one but TWO packs that just screamed "NEW PROJECT" to me.   I designed a little "Tissue Holder" (and made the tutorial for it) some months back so I knew exactly what I wanted to create with them.  Here's the first one....

Now doesn't that just scream, "SPRING!"?  Now, if you're a Stampin' Up! fan you might find yourself thinking in Stampin' Up! colors.  Well, I definitely do that a LOT.  So, when I saw these tissues my "PAS" or "Project Alert System" started dinging pretty loudly.  I was thinking...."MELON MAMBO, RICH RAZZLEBERRY, DAFFODIL DELIGHT, TANGERINE TANGO AND TEMPTING TURQUOISE"!!!  I was just giddy!  I also found another pack that had the PAS dinging too but I haven't completed that project yet.  I'll be sharing that one soon.

For those of you who would like to make one of these for yourself, I'm attaching the tutorial here.  It was previously posted here on my blog.

These would be really fun to do for so many different occasions.  And let me tell you...there are some stinkin' cute tissues out there!  Hahaha  Pardon the pun.  Just have fun!

Don't forget....SALE A BRATION is quickly coming to an end and so is the opportunity to get the FREE stamps and accessories that are being offered.  Visit my ONLINE STAMPIN' UP! STORE to shop to your heart's content.  Be sure while you're there to click on the CLEARANCE RACK for all kinds of deeply discounted items.  You'll be glad you did!

I'm off to open all the windows and let a bit of that spring air in.  I hope you can enjoy the day too.

Make it a magical day!

Pretty Petite Pansies

Happy Sunday Stampers!

It's supposed to "feel" a little more like spring here in Virginia today.  I sure hope so.  I'm tired of being cold while I'm enjoying the daffodils and pansies!

I saw some beautifully crafted paper pansies recently that were created by fellow stamper, Cathie Smith, and I just had to try making a few of my own.  Here's what I came up with....

This is a little box made using the "Pillow Box" die and the Big shot.  I cut it from Very Vanilla card stock and then embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I made the large pansy using one of the hearts from the new Heats Framelits on the Big Shot.  I cut 2 hearts from Concord Crush, 2 from Wisteria Wonder and 1 from Daffodil Delight.  I then cut the hearts in half and rounded the edge that wasn't rounded already.  Then I used my black Stampin' Write Marker and drew the veins on each petal.  Then I adhered them together with SNAIL and layered them together.  I added a Large Pearl Basic Jewel in the center.  The Pear Pizzazz leaves are made using the Blossom Building Punch.

The ribbon....ah, the ribbon.  I didn't have any ribbon that would coordinate so I took a piece of the Very Vanilla Seam Binding and using my Concord Crush Stamp Pad and a sponge, I sponge-dyed the ribbon to match.  How cool is THAT?  It's absolutely lovely in person.

For the enclosure card I used the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch and punched all the petals and layered them the same as the larger version.  I added a pearl from the other Basic Jewels pack for the center.
I then punched a hole using my Cropodile and added a little piece of the ribbon as a "pull".  This would be a terrific gift card holder as well and could be just the perfect gift for so many different occasions.
Doesn't it just make you feel spring in the air?

Wishing you a delightful, "springy" Sunday surrounded by
 the ones you love.

Spring Sweet Spring

Hello my sweet friends!

It's been a few days since I've actually had time to blog and I'm SO excited with the project I have for you today.  We've had a great week with Brittany home on Spring Break.  It's hard to believe that it's her last Spring Break before she graduates. two short months she'll be graduating.  Wow!  It's hard to believe that we'll have TWO grads this year.  Zach will be graduating from high school in June too.
We are SO blessed.

We had lots of family time while Britt was home.  We went to see "The Lorax", had several yummy dinners and really just enjoyed being together.  Mike got his stitches out and he's healing quite nicely.  We are SO blessed and happy that he will heal and it will all be behind him.  Praise the Lord!

Here are a couple of photos from one of our dinners this week.
I just thought I'd share the smiles with you...

Britt packed up her car this evening and headed back to school.  It's always great to get the phone call saying, "Hi, Mom!  I'm back at school safe and sound!"  Whew

Ok...Now on to the project for today.  These are a couple of little treats that I came up with this week when I unpacked my big box of goodies from Stampin' Up!  Man, I love seeing that box on my porch!!

I ordered one of the Big Shot dies I'd been drooling over for a long time.  I thought spring was the perfect time to add it to my collection.  It's called "Flowers, Daisies #2"  I have lots of projects planned using this little sweetie.  Here's what the die looks like....

114520 - Flowers, Daisies #2 Die

It cuts three different size daisies in one pass through the Big Shot.
SO awesome!
Here's what I came up with.....

Daisies made from "Blushing Bride" and "Whisper White" Card Stock

Daisies made from "So Saffron" and "Whisper White" Card Stock
The leaves are punched out of "Certainly Celery" Card Stock using the Blossom Petals Builder Punch.  I use that punch for SO many different things.  It's the best!  The sentiments are both from the "Sprinkled Expressions" stamp set and they are punched from the 1" square punch and layered over a piece of Certainly Celery punched with the Postage Stamp Punch.  The centers of the flowers are made using a white button from the "Neutrals" button pack and then I layered one of the new Large Pearls over top.

To make the stem I used the long cello bags filled with M&M's from the Easter assortment.  Don't worry....there are lots of purple, pink, blue and yellow ones left to snack on while you work.  Trust me...I know.

These little treats would be perfect to make for co-workers, friends, Easter basket treats or even great projects for Girls Scouts or youth groups to make.  Here's a supply list for you in case you'd like to get started on making some of these cuties for your very own.  Just go to my Online SU! Store to shop for the things you need.  It's open 24/ waiting...and you can shop in your pj's.

Springin' Into Things....

Happy Saturday, Peeps!

I'm SO excited to share this project with you today!  Woot!
I don't know if you do "Pinterest" (or if you've even heard of it!) but I'm SO addicted.  A few weeks ago I found a cool template for a box made from one sheet of 12x12 Designer Series Paper.  I tried it and I LOVE IT!  I have so many projects in my poor, little brain that I am just itching to bring to life.
This is the first of many I'm sure.

Here's what I came up with....After I show you my finished project, I'll post the photo of how to fold the box...

I made my box into a little Easter basket.  Here's a view from above...

To make the handle I just punched a strip of Whisper White card stock using the Lace Ribbon Border Punch.

Here's another view....

The flowers are made using a 1" circle punch and a little glue.  That's a "newbie" for me too.  I'm hoping to do a video tutorial on these little cuties soon.  Inside the basket is a bag of M&M's and a sweet, little chapstick holder decorated with a simple, little punch art bunny.  Here's a shot of the chapstick holder from the inside....

So fun!  There are SO many ways to use this little box.  Is your brain kicking into high gear like mine??  Alright...Here's the photo tutorial I followed.  This is NOT my original idea.  I found it on Pinterest like I said and the website it linked me to is NOT in English!  LOL  I just followed the photo to make mine.

Ok....what are you waiting for?  Spring is in the air and it's the perfect time to try something new, right?

If you'd like to find some GORGEOUS Designer Series paper and all that you need to create some awesome projects, just stop by my Online Stampin'Up! store.  Just Click Here

A Cat With No Hat

Hello, my friends!

As I was editing the photo to post with this entry, Linz came in to kiss me goodnight.  She gave me the latest countdown.  "What countdown?", you ask....  Why the countdown til Friday, March 2nd, of course!  It's Dr. Seuss' 108th birthday and more importantly....THE PREMIERE OF  "THE LORAX" MOVIE!
Whew....She's been counting down for months!  Linz LOVES all things Seuss and I'm sure it will be another "best day ever" in her book.

I think TODAY ranks right up there in the "best day" category though.  As you may know, Mike had the surgery on his face/nose this week and he's had a few minor complications.  He was planning on going back to work rather quickly since he figured it wouldn't be too extensive.  Well, the surgery was on Tuesday and he hasn't been back to work yet.  We'll see if he can go tomorrow for a bit.  The cancer on his nose was down through 2 of the 3 layers they go by when determining the extent of it.   His incision is the length of his nose and really quite wide.  The plastic surgeon did a great job from what we can tell.  He's still bandaged up.  He's had a LOT of swelling and resembles a prize fighter that didn't fair too well in the ring.  He had so much swelling and drainage in fact that the doctor wanted to see him today.  Unfortunately, he has an infection and is now on two antibiotics.
So....what's the GOOD news??  Well, while he was there the doctor received the pathology report and, PRAISE THE LORD, they got all the cancer!  WOOT!!  We are very relieved and are praying for a quick recovery.  Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support. on to the new PUNCH ART CRITTER I created for today's post.  Yay!!
I know I've had several of you who have asked when I was going to create a cat......Well....the time has finally come!
Here's the latest critter in my stamp room.....
Her name is Daphne...

Daphne is purrrrr-fectly plump and quite happy that way.  She was created out of a few pieces of card stock , a couple of punches and a little bling.  I hope she makes you smile.

Alrighty.....if you haven't taken advantage of all the Sale A Bration goodies and freebies...don't wait.  Today is March 1st and you don't want to miss it.

Have a wonderful Friday and enjoy your weekend,
