Fun Flowers

Hey there Stampers!

I have a quick and fun project to share.  I can tell already that I'll be making a LOT of these!

This is my new "Fun Flowers Bookmark"....

I'll be posting a quick tutorial on making them soon.  I finally have my video set up back together so I can actually "show" how to make them.  Woot!

It's made with just a few scraps of Designer Series Paper...a couple little scraps of cardstock...a piece of riboon and a button.  Voila!

The corner is just a folded piece of card stock covered with DSP.  It's attached with a piece of SU's Crocheted Trim Ribbon to a gorgeous flower.  The flower is made from 4 layers of "Everyday Enchantment" Designer Series Paper that have been cut with the Fun Flowers Die for the Big Shot.
Once I cut them out, I spritzed each one with a "magic" solution.  Ok....ok....not really.....   I spritzed them with none other than our Stampin' Mist!!  That's right!  It's the stamp cleaner!  Woot!  You spritz them enough so that they are damp.  Then you will crumple each one up and then unfold them again.  I then stacked them together while they were still damp and adhered them together.  Next, I used my Heat Gun to "blow dry" them and they start to take shape and stay just where I want them.  It's awesome.  I added a little circle of card stock in the middle under a sweet button with a piece of linen thread though it just for good measure and....DONE!  My mind is already racing with ideas for more of these sweet little gifts.  I can't wait.

So....if you are a reader or maybe a member of a BOOK CLUB these would be just the ticket for you.   Check out my Stampin' Up! Online Store for supplies and more great project ideas.

Stamped Blessings to you,

Stamp Camp to be RESCHEDULED

Hey there Stampers!

Just an FYI....

The "SWEET TREATS STAMP CAMP" scheduled for this Saturday, March 3rd has been cancelled and will be RESCHEDULED.  Unfortunately there were only a couple of stampers who could make it.  I would like to make it a day that more of you can attend.

A HUGE thank you to all who have emailed your prayers and words of support.  Mike's surgery today went well and now we wait for the test results to come back.  We are praying that it's all gone and that he feels better quickly.  We love you all and thank you for your love and support.

Feeling Twitterpated

Hey there my friends,

I'm really excited to show you this project today.  I've had this project sketch and on my desk to create since I returned from Stampin' Up! Regionals last month!  No kidding!

I was SO blessed to room with my upline, Robin and two new, amazing friends while I was there...Tara and Michelle (yep, another Michelle!)  Michelle had created one of the cutest iPad covers.  I was just itching to make one of my own.  Here's my version of her awesome creation....

Here it is opened up...

I stitched a loop on the side and attached a key ring "ID" tag

There's even an extra pouch on the inside that's the perfect place for the charger or other goodies (like chocolate!)

The fabric is one of my favorites from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  It's called "Twitterpated".  Love it!  Each package contains 3 different designs (as shown here).  One package is exactly enough to make this fun project.

The squares are cut using the Scallop Square Die and the Big Shot.  I then bought a package of quilt batting at WalMart and cut the same squares to "sandwich" in between each one.

I used a little piece of the Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Polka Dot Ribbon and a large button as a closure.
Isn't that fun?  These are perfect for iPad, Kindles and the like.  If you'd like to make one of your own, go to my Online Stampin' Up! Store to order your supplies.  Just click HERE and click on "Shop Now".  No lines...No waiting and you can shop in your pj's.
Life is good!  :-)

Wishing you a magical day,

Doggone Delighted

Hello my friends!

I'm sitting here both winding down and gearing up.  Winding down from quite a trying week and gearing up for a weekend full of family, friends and relaxation.  Linz has a new phrase she made up.  It's S.H.I.F.T.  So Happy It's Friday Tomorrow.  I love it.  I am most definitely SHIFTing tonight.  Whew!

So today I thought I'd share a new, little treat tote with you.  It's a little tote design I saw online late one night while blog hopping and for the life of me I can't find it again.  Luckily, I made a sketch of the directions and that's what I worked from.

The tote itself is made from one piece of 12x12 card stock.  This one, though, is made from a 12x12 sheet of Stampin' Up! Design Series Paper.  It's the perfect weight and it was super easy to work with.  Also, the patterns are SO stinkin' cute!

This is the one I made to share tonight.  It's a combo of the tote and a little punch art critter as well.

Isn't that cool?  I was SO excited when I saw this design.  They are really quick and easy to make and take just a few supplies.  They are also easy to make for any occasion.....  Add a little treat...a gift card....or even line the inside with photos as a gift.

This one is a little treat for a friend's new puppy.  It's filled with some yummy "Doggone Delights" a.k.a. Milk Bones.  Here's a diagram on the cuts and folds for the tote design.

Once you've scored and cut on the lines as shown, use a bone folder to make all folds crisp and fold box to close.  I then cut a topper for it using the Top Note die for the Big Shot.  Then I embossed it using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder just to add a little interest.  I added "Barkley", a sweet punch puppy to the flap and added Velcro as a closure on the under side.

I made another version of these for the students in my class for Valentine's Day.
Here's what they looked like....Unfortunately the photo doesn't show off the silver glitter paper.
It really made the whole design "pop".

You can make them into purses or just little gift totes....The sky's the limit.
So that's it from here for now.  I hope you have fun creating a few of these doggone cute treats.

Wishing you a magical day and many stamped blessings,

Bunny Kisses

Hey there, Peeps!

I've been busy as a bee getting things ready for my "The Punch Line" Stamp Camp that's going to be here tomorrow night.  I can't tell you exactly what it was that sparked my little brain and got me started with my love of punch art.  I will tell you that the little critters I've created have been such fun to bring to life.
I hope the ladies learn lots and really enjoy our projects.

Wanna sneak peek??  Here's a little cutie for ya....

We have a thing for "Bunny Kisses" in our family so this little guy fits right in.
I know I've said it before but I absolutely LOVE having tools that I can use in many, many ways and my punches are just awesome on that count.  I hope you like this project and I hope it adds a little glimpse of spring to your day.

Wishing you lots of smiles today,

Hey there, Stampers!

Happy President's Day!

I'm posting this here for those of you who have asked for the details on the punches etc. used in creating my frog, Charlotte.  I've had a couple of emails asking for them and I've emailed this out but have some of you telling me it hasn't made it all the way through cyberspace to you..  :-(

I'm not sure if it's how I've been attaching the file or not....  This is in jpeg format so I hope you are able to open and see it clearly.

Please email me if you have any questions.  I know sometimes these things make sense in my head but come across as clear as mud.  LOL

Life...and stuff....

Hello, my friends,

Thank you to those of you who've emailed to check on me.  I know it's been a bit since I've updated my blog and I'm sorry.  I've had a week and a half of some major transitions and quite honestly it's left me completely whipped by the time I got home from work each day.  I have a hard time giving myself permission to just "stop" so I've had projects and things I've wanted to share but....I just had to take a break. Also, for those of you who've followed the blog for a bit....you know that I've already had 2 surgeries on my right foot/ankle within the last year....  I thought things were on the mend and I was all done with it (and hoped beyond hope to wear CUTE shoes sometime again SOON!).  Within the last month or so I've started having pain and swelling again and I've been really scared to go back to have it looked at.  Why? Because I really don't want to have more surgery.  I'm a chicken...I know.  Quite honestly I'm just not good at being laid up.  Just ask Mike and my mom.  :-)

So I finally couldn't take it so I went back to the specialist on Friday and he was really concerned.  Apparently my body hasn't been too kind to the area from the surgery.  Once again it's built up some pretty wicked, hard and thick scar tissue that has now apparently encased the nerves near the latest incision site.  The doctor gave me a cortizone shot (mixed with something else) way down deep while I was there.  When I asked how long it would last he said, "Well, they can last an hour, a day, a week, or six months.  You just never know".  Well....mine lasted about an hour.  GRRRR  Let me just tell ya...that one shot hurt SO badly...I actually cried!  ugh.  I don't want another one...thank you VERY much!  I have another appointment in 3 weeks so until then.....I wait and pray.

So as you can see it's been a little crazy here and stamping had to wait for a bit.

But...I'm back and I have a card to share today.  This on is a little "out of the box" for me. First is pretty much monochromatic....SO unlike me.  LOL   I love having the versatility to make tons of different styles of cards and projects with the stamps and accessories I have.  This card I'm sharing is one that is made using a new stamp set I bought mostly because (as you can probably tell) I'm in the "wedding" frame of mind with Brittany's engagement so exciting and new.
Let me show you the card and then I'll give you a few details.

This card is larger than the regular 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cards I usually create.  This one is 5" x 5" square and fits perfectly into the 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" envelopes from Stampin' Up!.  I wanted to make a card using the new "Love and Laughter" stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog so I thought this was the perfect shape for something a little different.
Here's a close up of the front....so you can see the embossing....

The card is Whisper White done in layers.  The card base is embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I then cut out a frame and embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.
The cake image is stamped in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with the Pewter Embossing Powder and a heat gun.  I added a bow made of White Taffeta Ribbon and an Antique Brad.
Here's a peek inside...

I really do love the look of all the images in this stamp set.  The images are so trendy right now.
Here's a peek at the images included
in the Love and Laughter Set...

They are just so lovely!  I hope you like the card.  If you have any questions, please send me an email or leave me a comment here on the blog.

If you haven't checked out the new class schedule, you can click HERE.  I'd love to share some new ideas with you.  I hope you can join me soon.

Ok...I'm off to sleep for now.  I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Stamped Blessings,

From the Heart

Hello my friends!

First, let me just ask the burning question on MY mind......
WHERE THE HECK IS THE SNOW?????  Seriously?  I'm not asking for much.  I don't need a blizzard.  I just want some pretty, fluffy snow.  I don't need a week off due to weather...just one day or even a 2 hour delay would make my heart sing!  Oh well....winter is just not stepping up to the plate this year.

I had such a great time last night at my "Be My Valentine" Stamp Camp.  I designed 5 cards for them and they loved them.  Woot!  These were some of my favorites I've done for camp I think.  I'm also excited because I made extras of each to send out to some of MY special Valentines.  :-)

Here they are....

I can't wait to send out my valentines!  I  hope they brighten someone's day and spread a little love.

Don't forget....tomorrow evening I'll be drawing the winner of the Blog Candy I'm giving away.  Check out yesterday's blog post and leave me a comment to enter for your chance to win.

Wishing you a magical day!
